Must Have for Strength Training❗❗
Thinner Profile:
These competition plates which come with a thinner profile, like for e.g. the 55lbs plate of 2.5'' thickness & likewise the other plate’s thickness is also reduced which means now your plate loading capacity on the bar is increase.
Chrome-plated steel disc inserts
- Made of steel core which can add stability to bumper weight plates.
- Compatible with all 2" weight barbells.
High-density rubber
- Low bounce
- Low to no odor
- Drop proof
- Prevents your floor from scratching
Raised rubber surface
- Prevent the center disc from direct contact and reduce wear.
- Easy to pick up from the rack or off the ground.
Snode Competition Plates are marked & colored according to IWF regulations
Low Bounce & Efficient:
All plates have a low bounce with a durometer of 90 (+/-5), which means a lesser force is exerted on the barbell, the center ring is saved from impact and damage. Plus, less bounce means more predictable bar travel when dropped, less time chasing your bar around the gym, which allows you to workout safely in small spaces or with others.
Versatility
Snode competition plates are not only great for Olympic lifts but also for a variety of other exercises. They can be used for deadlifts, squats, lunges, and more. The versatility of bumper plates makes them a valuable addition to any home or commercial gym.
FAQs
These plates are made of rubber, which allows them to be dropped safely without causing damage. On the other hand, significantly reduce the noise when dropped. Traditional iron plates are not designed for dropping and can damage both the floor and the plates if dropped.
Bumper plates, made from rubber, excel in reducing noise and protecting floors during training. They are durable and commonly used in commercial gyms. On the other hand, competition plates, typically crafted from metal or steel, meet strict standards for official weightlifting competitions. They prioritize precision in weight calibration and are built for high-level lifting, ensuring fairness and consistency in competitive events. Our competition plates are known for superior durability, adherence to professional standards, and their ability to minimize noise while protecting gym floors, making them an ideal choice for both performance and facility maintenance.
The main difference between standard and Competition plates lies in their size and the diameter of the bar they are designed to fit.Standard plates have a 1-inch hole and are used with 1-inch barbells, while Competition plates have a 2-inch hole and are designed for use with 2-inch barbells. Competition plates are sturdier and heavier, suitable for serious weightlifting.
Competition plates are thin to meet strict International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) standards for size and diameter. The thinness allows for greater flexibility in the lifter's movements, making it easier to grip and maneuver during lifts. It also ensures consistency across all plates used in official competitions, providing an equal and fair environment for all athletes.
Competition plates are typically made of steel or metal, which allows for a more precise weight distribution and ensures adherence to standardized specifications for official weightlifting competitions. The use of dense materials like steel also enables the plates to be thinner, facilitating the loading of heavier weights onto the bar.
Competition plates are often more expensive due to several factors. First, they are manufactured to meet strict standards set by organizations such as the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), ensuring precise weight accuracy and dimensions. The materials used, typically steel, are of high quality and density, allowing for thinner plates that can accommodate heavier loads. Additionally, the manufacturing processes, including precision calibration, contribute to the higher cost.
Competition bumper plates are standardized for weight and size, providing consistency in training and competition. Their thin design allows for higher weight loads, and their durable material ensures a long-lasting performance. Using them in training prepares athletes for the equipment they'll face in official events.
Standard Olympic barbells typically weigh 45 pounds for men and 25 pounds for women, which is approximately 20.4 kilograms and 11.3 kilograms, respectively.
